I employed Tapco to conduct a survey following my homebuyers survey by a chartered surveyor which raised issues of penetrating damp on a first-floor conversion property. I shared the relevant extracts of the report with Tapco including photographs which showed that the repairs required were external and at first floor level. I was advised by Tapco that I should commission a specialist damp survey for which I paid £200+. When I received the report, it was clear that the Tapco representative had not investigated the external issues that I had clearly asked them to inspect and the report only quoted for internal plasterwork with advice that the external repairs should be completed by a builder. On following up with Tapco, they then told me that they do not complete external works on properties above ground floor level. I was extremely disappointed that this was not highlighted to me by Tapco when I first contacted them. The whole process was a waste of time and caused unnecessary delays to my conveyancing process. I understand that mistakes can be made and I am thankful that a refund was issued. However, I was disappointed by the way it was handled and I received an apology I can only describe as reluctant.

I paid this company to damp proof my entire flat. It took six days and cost thousands of pounds including the work, vacating the flat, paying for a plumber to remove and put back radiators, repainting... The work was guaranteed for twenty years. Within four months the damp had come back. When I called and complained and asked them to fix the issue they said the damp had appeared since they carried out the work and they were not liable. Given the damp appeared during the hottest and driest time of the year, this is highly suspect. They said they had not noticed the 'new' damp at the time they carried out the original inspection and so were not liable. I'm really shocked and horrified that now I have to redo this wall and I'm back where I started with more bills. They should not have missed this. Now I am left with the damage.

This was a seamless, clean and efficient damp proof fix. The chap who did the work was very clean, courteous and efficient. Job done in a day with minimal mess. Excellent service. I will use Tapco again.

Believe the bad reviews and do not use this company. They are the definition of cowboys. We booked Tapco to do a damp survey for problems that had been flagged in our main property survey inside and outside of the house. We turned down other companies because they only offered an internal survey and we knew there was a problem outside. Tapco took on the work knowing both of the specific problem areas we wanted the survey to focus on. When we got the survey back neither area had been addressed. The survey now stated it was internal only, something never mentioned on the invoice, and they couldn’t access the area of concern in the house, despite us flagging when booking them we knew it had difficult access we were assured it would be looked at. When we demanded a refund or for the survey to be completed again looking at the areas we had been quoted for (including an external review) we were sent back flags and concerns raised by our original surveyor just reworded. We asked for evidence and specifics and none were provided as they had not looked into these elements and were merely repurposing our own survey. They essentially did any work and charged us for it. They also created a ludicrous quote. NEVER USE

Once again Tapco have helped me out with a big damp problem at one of my clients. Their site team did a great job, worked quickly and cleanly. All complete. We then followed in with our own decorators to finish. 10 of 10 by way of a recommendation for our friends at Tapco.
