The matching pair of handmade, hand-painted, beautiful bespoke fitted bookcases that Stephen made for our large collection of books are stunning. The process was an absolute pleasure, Stephen was helpful with design decisions as well as practicalities such as the materials used and the kind of finish we wanted. Once made, they were fitted perfectly. We were kept informed of progress along the way- such pieces cannot be made in a week or two- but Stephen kept in touch., checking every detail. He is a dedicated, talented maker; we enjoy the bookcases every day and we highly recommend this highly - skilled, extremely professional and personable craftsman.

Stephen recently made a built in storage bench for our living room. He was great to work with from start to finish. The bench turned out exactly how I had imagined it, perhaps even better. I would highly recommend him.

Stephen recently made fitted bookcases for our front room. They are a beautiful piece of work, which go perfectly in the room (thanks to thorough discussion of all the options). All the minor difficulties - such as electrical sockets and phone lines - have been beautifully dealt with. We couldn't be more pleased, and would highly recommend SPB carpentry.

We are delighted with the floating shelves Stephen installed in our dining room. They were exactly what we were hoping for and the quality of the work is excellent. We also appreciated how efficient and organised he was.

Stephen did a fantastic job for us installing a combined bookshelf-and-cabinet unit. We are so pleased with the end result - a real statement piece. I would also highly recommend Stephen as a great guy to work with - very organised and good with his comms - did what he said he would and cleaned up spotlessly. His attention to detail was exemplary; not only a very snug fit for the space, but things like sourcing a natural wood cable router off his own bat, which looks very good against the green of the bookshelves.
